In this 1957 classic comedy of errors Cary Grant plays Nickie, a playboy bachelor who finds himself on a cruise on the heels of an elegant Deborah Kerr.
As the world's most eligible bachelor he must put aside all thoughts of his bride to be - an heiress sitting at home dutifully awaiting his return - if he wants to concentrate on seducing former night-club singer Terry McKay (Kerr).
Apart from the fact that Nickie is engaged to be married, so is Terry - but as time on the cruise passes the pair realise that they are completely in love and are betrothed to the wrong people.
They finally agree to spend six months apart; if they still love each other at the end of that time, they will reunite at the top of the Empire State Building.
But of course, the path of true love does not always run smooth, and tragedy threatens to tear the couple apart.
This is a remake of 1939's Love Affair, also directed by Leo McCarey, and was as well received as the original.
This much-loved film features the Academy Award-nominated title song and a splendid supporting cast.
