The film that started a whole wave of disaster movies in the Seventies and still one of the best, though you may find it hard to take it seriously with Leslie Nielsen as the ship's captain.
Nevertheless, it's one of the most human and believable of its kind, once you accept the idea that an ocean liner could flip over quickly enough to trap a huge reservoir of air under its upturned hull.
Another point in its favour is that there are no Hollywood heroes, although the central characters are heroic.
Gene Hackman stars as a vicar who leads the survivors to the bottom of the ship (Upturned = top, remember), hoping to break through to a rescue team.
Good tense action keeps things moving, without letting you know if rescue is at hand.
