A muscular crime drama offering two pop stars-turned-actors for the price of one. Roger Daltrey takes the title role of the now rehabilitated and respectable criminal John McVicar, Adam Faith is his accomplice in a prison break-out, Walter Probyn. As one might expect, the film is somewhat sanitised but, despite that, the prison scenes carry conviction. Tom Clegg, more used to the confines of small screen series such as The Sweeney, provides efficient if anonymous direction.
