An inappropriate title (the film was a box-office turkey) for one of those action films that's vigorously over-played with laughter in mind.
Mark Wahlberg is the impossibly athletic hit-man who mows down men by the dozen, but balks at kidnapping the daughter (China Chow) of a Japanese industrialist.
Opening with an avalanche of balletic action that apes but doesn't approach the work of director John Woo, the film rapidly disintegrates into a slew of shouting and heroic over-acting.
At least a dozen performances could vie for worst of the year, but Elliott Gould probably demeans himself more than anyone with his mincing portrait of a belching, hen-pecked father.
Loud and bouncy musical accompaniment hinders rather than helps the noisy charade.
'It's a drag,' says China. 'Sometimes I wish I could just get away.' Tell us about it!
