An old-fashioned romantic comedy with two big stars and about as much substance as a champagne bubble.
Bewildered little nympho Vanessa Paradis is talked out of throwing herself off a bridge by knife-thrower Daniel Auteuil who, previously suicidal himself, makes her the centrepiece of his act.
They are, of course, like the two halves of a banknote Auteuil does magic tricks with, worthless apart.
But, as in all such romantic flotsam, it takes 90 minutes to prove it.
Auteuil's diffident charm and the gap-toothed Paradis' piquant sex appeal comfortably see it through to an inevitable ending on another bridge.
