To Catch a Thief

Hitchcock's breezy romantic thriller stars Cary Grant as a reformed jewel thief living on the French Riviera whose retirement is rudely disrupted by a copycat burglar. Oscar-winning photography ensures that Grace Kelly is an absolute vision as the initially aloof rich girl who helps the ageing rogue protect his bad name.

Alfred Hitchcock's smooth-running thriller - about a jewel thief trying to track down his impersonator - oozes with mystery, teasing jokes, red herrings and dead-end trails.

Cary Grant is alluringly suave in the star role, while Grace Kelly is icily effective as a high society girl whose reserve is gradually melted by the excitement of a romance tinged with danger.

Hitchcock apppears after about 10 minutes, sitting next to Grant on a bus.
