Jack Clayton's constantly eerie and finally terrifying version of Henry James's The Turn of the Screw.

Consistent performances by Deborah Kerr and Megs Jenkins, and a briefly powerful one by Peter Wyngarde are nicely counter-balanced by Martin Stephens and Pamela Franklin, perfectly in character as the other-worldly children.

Preferably not one to watch alone. And hold tight for the shattering climax.
