An endearingly silly killer whale action thriller, with Richard Harris enjoying himself as a shark hunter battling the ultra-brainy sea monster after he accidentally harpoons to death its pregnant mate. Those expecting real quality had better look elsewhere, but fans of enjoyably bad movies will find plenty to relish, not least lady-in-peril Bo Derek. Will Sampson, Charlotte Rampling and even Keenan Wynn look pretty embarassed and deserve much better material. Harris and Derek survived the experience and met up again for 1981's Tarzan, the Ape Man, which was much, much worse than this.
