Deanna Durbin was never more delightful than this, her feature debut, as a matchmaking teenager out to keep her (divorced) errant father on the straight and narrow path back to mother. Songs include My Heart is Singing and Someone to Care for Me. As always in her pre-war films, the Durbin kid is like a breath of fresh air.
