Magnum Force

The unlucky punks of San Francisco make Clint Eastwood's day as Inspector Harry Callahan returns to investigate a wave of strange murders sweeping across the city. Already 'Dirty', Harry's name becomes mud in the SFPD when he traces the killings back to a brotherhood of dodgy cops (led by David Soul). Written by John 'Apocalypse Now' Milius and Michael 'Deerhunter' Cimino, no villain is left ungunned in a ruthlessly efficient sequel.

None of the baddies is any match for tough, gruff Eastwood in his second outing as 'Dirty Harry'. Clint acts with all the force of a Magnum .44 revolver, Ted Post's direction has a bull's-eye aim, and this is an exciting, well-made thriller, packed with action and atmosphere, that still seems in mint condition.
