Juliette Lewis, January 2004

Juliette Lewis

Born: June 1973
Where: LA, California, USA

Lewis first came to attention when she was Oscar-nominated for her supporting role as the teenager who flirts with De Niro's psycho in the thriller remake of Cape Fear.

The daughter of character actor Geoffrey Lewis, she dropped out of school to concentrate on her acting and appeared in National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.

"Just 'cause I'm in the same age bracket as Johnny Depp and Leo Dicaprio doesn't mean we all screw together."

She also appeared in Crooked Hearts with Peter Coyote and Jennifer Jason Leigh before hitting the jackpot as Danielle Bowden in Cape Fear.

She replaced Emily Lloyd in mid-production as the college student who attracts and intrigues professor Woody Allen in Husbands and Wives and also starred in That Night oppposite then boyfriend Brad Pitt.

What's Eating Gilbert Grape, Romeo is Bleeding and Natural Born Killers oppposite Woody Harrelson all saw her stock rising.

Lewis remained uncharacteristically low-key in the years that followed, with roles ranging from the quirky From Dusk Till Dawn to the dramatic The Other Sister in 1996.

In 2000, Lewis appeared in no less than three films, including Way of the Gun and Room to Rent with Benicio Del Toro.

She played opposite Jennifer Lopez in the tepid thriller Enough and had a minor role alongside Dennis Quaid and Sharon Stone in the thriller Cold Creak Manor.

Recent work includes the role of "part-time girlfriend" of drugs lord Vince Vaughn in the remake of Starsky & Hutch and the supernatural western Blueberry.
