John Heard
Born: 7th March 1945
Where: Washington, D.C.
John burst onto the New York theatre scene in the mid-1970s, and up until the early 80s he performed in numerous productions on-and-off Broadway.
He nabbed plum roles in some of the most talked about productions of the decade including Warp, Vietnam dramas G.R. Point and Streamers, and Iago in a NY Shakespeare production of Othello.
During the 80's, he steadily continued to appear in features, playing a boozy angry Vietnam vet in Cutter's Way, a mysterious zoo curator in Cat People, a bartender in Martin Scorsese's After Hours, and the unsympathetic son in Horton Foote's The Trip To Bountiful.
But it was as the unflappable father in 1990's Home Alone and it's sequel two years later, Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, that moved John into blockbuster territory.
John continued to work in features, turning in small but pivotal performances in 1993's The Pelican Brief and In the Line of Fire.
John has appeared on television, starring in several mini-series. In addition, he also appeared on shows like The Sopranos, The Outer Limits, and Law & Order.
Towards the end of the 90's he starred in Brian DePalma's Snake Eyes, with Nicholas Cage, Steve Buscemi's Animal Factory, and Morgan J. Freeman's Desert Blue, with Ryan Phillippe, Reese Witherspoon, and Kate Hudson.
