No fewer than 17 film directors (count 'em) plus an odd writer and makeup man, appear in cameo roles in this foray into the madness of insomnia, directed by John Landis. The underrated Jeff Goldblum is perfectly cast as the insomniac who becomes involved with damsel-in-distress Michelle Pfeiffer - and much more besides. The starry line-up also features David Bowie, Dan Aykroyd, Vera Miles and Richard Farnsworth, and there are in-jokes galore. The wonderful bluesy soundtrack features BB King. A delight for film buffs, blues fans and insomniacs alike.
