This road movie with comedy intentions is passable if you like stars Patrick Cassidy, David Hemmings and Bruce A Young and can tolerate a plot that's pretty short on credibility. Written and directed by Magnum creator Don Bellisario, the film casts Cassidy as a Los Angeles yuppie businessman who (unbelievably) lands up in a tough Louisiana work camp run by a vicious, sadistic governor (Everett McGill) who has a habit of throwing the odd prisoner to the crocodiles. Having narrowly avoided this unhappy fate, Cassidy joins up with seasoned cons Hemmings and Young and escapes. On the road, Cassidy attempts to keep to the straight and narrow while his fellow jailbreakers naturally do the opposite. But events en route to the (expected) happy ending could have been a good deal faster and funnier.
