Larry Miller
Born: October 15th, 1953
Where: Long Island, New York
Larry Miller began his showbiz career in music.
He attended Amherst College in Massachusetts where he studied music and began his career soon after graduation by playing piano and drums in New York City bars.
After a couple of years Larry turned to stand-up comedy, performing at Catch A Rising Star and The Comic Strip in Los Angeles.
His film debut came in 1978 was Take Down but he spent the next ten years on stage performing his stand up routine.
After a couple of low budget TV movies, Larry's big screen break came in 1990.
He played the pretentious yet over-eager boutique manager in Garry Marshall's Pretty Woman, the Julia Roberts and Richard Gere classic, and suddenly his face was recognised by the moviegoing public.
In 1992 he was offered his own TV special, called Larry Miller: Just Words, and was subsequently offered a recurring role on the successful sitcom Made About You.
In 1995 he appeared in an episode of Law and Order, where he played a murdering restaurateur.
Still very much a TV actor, Larry was cast as a regular on the TV sitcom Life's Work, and was finally given a co-starring role in a feature film, opposite Eddie Murphy in The Nutty Professor.
This role was reprised for the sequel, Nutty Professor II.
Larry has also had reasonable roles on The Big Tease, The Princess Diaries and Runaway Bride, again with Julia Roberts and Richard Gere.
Currently on Broadway, Larry has replaced John Ritter in a leading role of the Broadway comedy The Dinner Party.
