This was the glossy, if predictable, pilot episode for a new series about a flamboyant Philadelphia criminal lawyer, which was expected to take over from 'Kojak' to provide a new and successful TV vehicle for Telly Savalas. Strangely, the series was never made, but Savalas is, as ever, very watchable as he takes on the case of a crime syndicate accountant accused of killing a TV newscaster, and he's backed by a cast which includes Rod Taylor, Melinda Dillon, M Emmet Walsh and the then-little-known Sean Penn, making one of his earliest screen appearances.
