There's a bad guy lurking around every corner in this clone of the far better Something Wild. Madsen, a student of the Bruce Willis school of charm in this one, plays Harry, an ex-convict who wins a car in a poker game little realising that its trunk contains a dead body, the victim of a Mafia assassination. And when he meets wacky Kit (Arquette), out for revenge on the Mob for the murder of her father, Harry's troubles double. Madsen still looks more powerful as a top supporting bad guy than a leading man, but at lease he and the spunky Arquette manage to lift these black frolics out of the rut from time to time - although they are far too many chases when the director's lack of imagination is all too evident.
