The sting in this lively tale is the con set up by hustler James Woods to relieve a rich but evil businessman (Bruce Dern) of his wealth. And the method is to entice him to bet that ageing boxer `Honey` Roy Palmer (Louis Gossett Jr) can't knock out 10 men in successive bouts in a prize fight bonanza. The tournament is loaded with skulduggery, as Woods and Dern attempt to out-con each other, and the boxing action is first-class - although there's rather a lot of it for those of more sensitive disposition. Sparkling entertainment, though, and not just for fans of the sport.
