Sean Connery's charisma boosts this slick and glossy thriller that entertains nicely despite huge holes in its derivative plot. He plays an ex-lawyer and campaigner against the death penalty who, when told that a man (Blair Underwood) on Death Row is innocent, re-examines the evidence and finds some deadly truths. The strong cast also includes Laurence Fishburne, Kate Capshaw, Ed Harris and Scarlett Johansson, as Connery's daughter.
