Susannah Grant

The Oscar-nominated writer made her directorial debut with the romantic comedy Catch and Release.
However, she is known primarily as a screenwriter, penning the likes of 28 Days, the Academy Award-nominated Erin Brockovich and In Her Shoes.
She graduated from Amherst College with a degree in English and enrolled on the American Film Institute's Centre for Advance Film and Television Studies screenwriting course.
In 1992, she was a recipient of the Nicholl Fellowship in screenwriting given by the academy of Motion Picture Art and Sciences.
In 1984, after college, she moved to New York City to take a stab at acting while doing entry-level editorial work at places like Rolling Stone magazine.
In 1995-1998, Grant was a writer/producer/director on popular television series Party of Five which received a Golden Globe Award for best TV drama.
For the next few years Grant did some un-credited writing on the features Centre Stage, Charlie’s Angels and Unfaithful, before she penned her next original screenplay.
That same year Grant's screenplay 28 Days, starring Sandra Bullock as an alcoholic, was produced.
In 1995 she co-wrote the critically acclaimed update of the Cinderella fairy tale Ever After, starring Drew Barrymore, and Pocahontas, the blockbuster animated feature.
Grant then wrote the script for Curtis Hanson's In Her Shoes, which starred the likes of Cameron Diaz and Toni Collette.
Most recently Grant co-wrote the screen play for the 2006 live-action/CGI version of Charlotte's web based on the book by E.B White.
The same year she made her directorial debut with the romantic comedy Catch and Release with Jennifer Garner.
