The heads in the title are those of the decapitated victims in this seriously warped comedy-thriller set in a small American town that sems to have a lot in common with the late lamented Twin Peaks. Jaunty Jon Cryer and minxish Jennifer Tilly have the right offbeat personalities as the odd couple trying to solve the mystery before reporter Cryer's editor Ed Asner (playing amusingly against his Lou Grant image) fires him. Even though it's two degrees removed from reality and the weirdness is somewhat over-emphasised, this will amuse whodunit fans, who shouldn't have too much trouble coming to the right conclusions.
