Even if you don't fancy a golfing film, here's one that's below par in the nicest way, presenting golf for beginners, Hollywood-style.
A washed-up golf pro now running a desert driving range gets his act together, enters the US Open and breaks the course record. In your dreams!
Never mind, with Kevin Costner at his most relaxed in ages and looking more like Gary Cooper than ever, the getting to this cup of moonshine is pretty enjoyable.
Marginally less believable than Rocky, it has a decent share of funny lines, and nicely drawn supporting characters from Cheech Marin (Latino caddie) and Don Johnson (smarmy rival); Rene Russo's the gal.
And the film's message - 'Go for it! ' - isn't such bad advice in life.
