James Van Der Beek

Van Der Beek was the Dawson of Dawson's Creek, a TV role for which he is most famous although Hollywood is beckoning.

After landing the role of Danny Zuko in a school production of Grease, the acting bug took him and he began working in local theatre.

A six-hour commute everyday for an off-Broadway production of Finding The Sun proved his mettle and he received a scholarship to Drew University in Madison.

He studied English and had small parts in the movies Angus and I Love You, I Love You Not before the call came from Dawson's Creek.

Big screen roles followed in Varsity Blues, an uncredited role in Scary Movie and Jay and a cameo in Silent Bob's Big Adventure.

Recent film work includes the Rules of Attraction, based on the Bret Easton Ellis novel.
