Marie Davenport (Theresa Russell) decides to confess her adultery to her surgeon husband (Mark Harmon), but he is killed before she gets the chance. Mysteries escalate after his body goes missing, leaving a question mark over whether he is really dead. A top-notch cast - including James Russo, Will Patton and Talia Shire - struggles to make sense of it all. Director Nicolas Roeg, whose previous films include Bad Timing and Castaway, once again explores fraught relations between the sexes, but the muddled results are over-cooked. A good-looking film, but too often dull and illogical.
