Despite a fascinating tale and an interesting B-movie cast, this is a disappointingly mediocre made-for-TV thriller about the notorious real-life criminal John Hawkins, one of America's most wanted. Antonio Sabato Jr stars as the charming con man murderer who disappears after a $1million insurance payout on his dead business partner (Brad Dourif). California detective Peter Stanford (David Keith) is assigned to track him down, and ends up chasing him round the globe. The acting is more than adequate, especially by the twitchy Dourif and Maury Chaykin as Dr Boggs, but this can't raise its game above being just another predictably average crime drama.
