You may, like us, lose the thread of this gossamer-thin romantic fantasy in Sliding Doors vein. Victor (Douglas Henshall) confesses an affair to partner Sylvia (Lena Headey), who leaves him. His attempt to win her back on the eve of her wedding fails. The film then goes off on a tangent into what seems like a parallel world, but is really (according to the synopsis), Victor's idea of what might have happened had the boot been on the other foot. If this is the case, the film's part-happy, part-fantastic ending seems a complete fraud. There's some charm in the relationship between Henshall and Penélope Cruz, but then it isn't really happening. Or is it? If you must, go figure.
