Though it's a rehash of bits from early Bond films, this is an exciting adventure, bursting with action, gadgetry and spectacular stunts. Megalo-maniac media-man Jonathan Pryce is ready to start a world war in his bid to control the world's news coverage. There's sharp wit in the script, Pierce Brosnan's Bond remains stylish and cool, and martial arts star Michelle Yeoh is a terrific heroine as his Chinese co-agent. Yeoh, who earned $2,500,000 for the movie, did her own stunts. To save money on re-shooting the German car park scene, it was filmed at London's Brent Cross, where the shopping centre carried posters that explosions were harmless.
