Although dated and stagebound, this very English comedy of chaos does have three performances of fine controlled frenzy from Robert Lindsay, Imelda Staunton and Rik Mayall. But the splendid Brenda Blethyn is wasted as a latecomer to the overkill of domestic confusion that descends on Mayall's household with the arrival of four or five couples (it's hard to keep count) that renders this fierce farce a close relation of the Hollywood comedy Madhouse.
