Lili Taylor sears the screen as the increasingly unhinged feminist Valerie Solanas, the radical feminist who shot and almost killed Andy Warhol in 1968. Jared (son of Richard) Harris makes a four-course meal of a gift of a part as the camp but caring artist who foolishly welcomes Solanas into his circle of friends, and Stephen Dorff appears as you've never seen him before as the gorgeous drag queen Candy Darling. An intelligent, minutely observed film for broad-minded grown-ups, with as much strong language and offbeat sexuality as provocative ideas.
