Would you like to be abandoned in the Arizona desert unexpectedly? This is what happens to a small group of people in 1860 when it is suspected that one of the passengers on the stagecoach in which they are travelling is afflicted with smallpox. The coachman does a runner and five of the passengers are left to fend for themselves. An offbeat but still undemanding Western drama, with a flashy role for Martin Landau as a scurrilous gambler. Inevitably a bit slow-moving at times, the plot has some unexpected twists and turns and you may be pushed to predict the survivors at the end of the trail. FACTS: Warren Stevens' only leading role; Jody Lawrance's last film. The foster sister of Marilyn Monroe, she died at only 55.
