This slight romantic drama is a little on the slow side, but the ironies of its situations may keep you watching. Things are less clear-cut at the end than they were at the beginning, but then perhaps that's showbiz life. Playwright Felix (Lambert Wilson) is having an affair with starlet Hilary (Thandie Newton) to the dismay of his vivacious wife (Anna Galiena). Salvation appears to come along in the shape of charismatic American leading man Robin (Jon Bon Jovi) who, having slept his way through Hollywood, suggests seducing Felix's wife as a way of passing the time pleasurably while helping the harassed writer out of his marriage. On the sly, the amoral Robin plans to bed Hilary as well, but that, like most things in the story, doesn't quite work out. There's not much more than an hour's worth of drama here, but Bon Jovi's quite a charmer and steers it through. Supporting acting's a bit variable.
