In the Sixties, the US sitcom, McHale's Navy, was the naval equivalent of the army sitcom, Sgt Bilko.

Three decades later, in this feature-film spin-off, Tom Arnold takes over the Ernest Borgnine role of the wisecracking Lt Cmdr McHale, who, with his crazy crew, loves nothing better than mocking at authority.

Sadly, this vessel sinks under the weight of its unfunny humour and the only interest is Borgnine's cameo as a navy bigwig and Debra (Will & Grace) Messing's early turn as a shipshapely lieutenant (DH/DW).
