A sweet true-story tearjerker about a bereaved little girl (Jodelle Ferland) and the grannie (Ellen Burstyn) who encourages her to write a letter to her dead father and attach it to a balloon. Burstyn compensates for Ferland's irritating dialogue, and Samantha Mathis is strong as the concerned mom.
