Rutger Hauer plays a local detective who has to co-operate with the FBI's probe into a murder/kidnapping. He is a single dad, and has a precocious child by his first wife. Problems start when he discovers that the top federal agent called in on the case is his recent ex-wife and it looks as if he's the guilty party! No cliché is left unturned, but it's still quite enjoyable hokum.
