Benno Fürmann

The actor is best know for the lead role of Prince Siegfried on the Legend of the Nibelungs-insired Sword of Xanten.
He has also featured in supporting roles in Brian Helgeland's The Order and provided the German voiceover for Shrek 2's Puss in Boots.
Furmann - who lost both parents by the time he was 15 - supported himself by working as a barman, doorman and scaffholder.
In 1992, he got his first break when he landed an place studying acting at the Lee Strasberg Institute in New York.
An award-winning actor on German TV, he appeared in Roland Suso Richter's Die Bubi Scholz Story as well as My House in Umbria (released as a feature outside Germany).
On the big screen, he played the lead Bodo alongside Franka Potente in Tom Tykwer's The Princess and the Warrior.
He also won awards for Martin Eigler's Freunde, including the European Film Promotion's Shooting Star prize.
