The young actress is known the world over for the role of schoolgirl Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter series.
A fan of the JK Rowling books, she thought it would be "a giggle" to audition for the role when the casting crew visited her school in Oxford.
The daughter of lawyers (who have divorced), she acted at school in plays including The Happy Prince before landing the role in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone in 2001.
At 15, she was the youngest actress to appear in Teen Vogue magazine after she was named one of the "hottest teenage stars" aged just 13.
During her stint as Hermione she has won the AOL award for Best Supporting Actress for the second and third movies, as well as the Total Film award for Best New Performer in The Prisoner Of Azkaban.
