Bunyip Bluegum (voiced by Geoffrey Rush) the koala sets off to find his parents, who were captured by villains years ago. He's accompanied on his quest by a sailor, a penguin and their magic (everlasting) talking pudding called Albert (John Cleese). But Buncle wombat and his clumsy companion are after them to grab the pudding for themselves. It's actually quite an entertaining, humorous animated tale, full of songs ­ most of which don't grate - a starry cast (Toni Collette and Sam Neill among them) and adventure. It's (very) loosely based on a quirky Australian children's story by Norman Lindsay.
