Flmed in France as Les Visiteurs in 1993, this broad comedy about a time-travelling knight was a huge hit there. Nine years on, the original director and writers have reteamed with their star, Jean Reno, to retell in English the tale about a medieval nobleman who, to prevent a tragedy that's befallen his beloved, wheedles a wizard into sending him back in time to change history. But the nobleman, plus a smelly sidekick, finds himself 800 years in the future, in modern-day Chicago. Culture clash is the cue for much silly slapstick, as they first meet everything from kitchen utensils to cars. The film is slicker than the first one, a shade funnier and more family orientated. Kids will giggle and there's just about enough for adults to ensure a fairly good knight.
