Hitchcock thriller about an anarchist plotting to blow up Piccadilly Circus. It is based on Joseph Conrad's novel The Secret Agent and has splendidly seedy locales, a brooding, doom-laden atmosphere and the usual crop of memorable sequences, including the meeting of spies in an aquarium. Streets ahead of the 1990s remake with Bob Hoskins.
