An opening-out by playwright Charles Dyer of his own hit play about two middle-aged homosexuals living above a barber's shop, this film version is tailored to the acting talents of its two leading players, although it seems almost wilfully perverse to cast two of filmland's most married actors, Richard Burton and Rex Harrison, in these roles. Stephen Lewis, Blakey from 'On the Buses', has a featured role - one of his rare appearances in films. The music score for this curio is by Dudley Moore.
