A follow-up to the success of co-stars Bob Hope and Paulette Goddard in 'The Cat and the Canary' that both tickles the ribs and chills the spine. Directed at a rattling pace by a George Marshall brimming with confidence after his success the previous year with 'Destry Rides Again' the film bristles with wisecracks and mixes its chuckles and creepy bits with a facility rarely seen in this genre. Look fast for a young Robert Ryan as an intern near the start of the film.
