Cool and stylish, this is one powerful British gangster film that so many try to emulate but just fall far too short. Michael Caine stars as Carter, a London gangster who travels back to his childhood home of Newcastle to find out why his brother died. But once there he uncovers a den of corruption, pornography and drugs that has engulfed his dearest family members. The dialogue is spot on, the soundtrack hip and Caine is superb. A real classic.
