A throwback - although admittedly one in colour, on a larger budget and with Seventies' special effects - to those Fifties' horror films about shrinking men, wasp women and alligator people. Alex Rebar is the astronaut who returns from outer space with something rotten happening to his flesh. And guess what: he can only retard the process by devouring the flesh of other men. Sounds gruesome and it is.
