A familiar story of a trio of gold-diggers on the prowl in New York, this was the second CinemaScope feature. The three huntresses are attractively played by 'the legs, the lure and the look', alias Betty Grable, Marilyn Monroe, who makes myopia entertaining, and Lauren Bacall, who has all the best lines and delivers them stylishly. The film has more good humour, perhaps, than real wit, but director Jean Negulesco makes it all very pleasing to watch, with William Powell scoring for the men, who also include David Wayne, Cameron Mitchell and Rory Calhoun.
