Hollywood was courtesy of Paramount and Anita Ekberg (playing herself) supplied the bust for the last of the Dean Martin-Jerry Lewis comedies that had begun with My Friend Irma in 1949. Fun and foolery on the road to Los Angeles ensue, with director Frank Tashlin (with whom Lewis would make some of his best solo films) keeping the pace brisk and disguising the fact that Dean and Jerry's double act had practically disintegrated and the stars weren't speaking to each other off screen. The funniest scenes for Lewis fans come right at the beginning, when their hero has a great time taking off film fans from different countries. Later scenes are stolen by a Great Dane called Baron who appears even capable of driving a car!
