A dated sex drama, set in the rich suburbs of Los Angeles, and based on the best seller by Irving Wallace. Psychologist Dr Chapman (Andrew Duggan) and his assistant (Efrem Zimbalist Jr) are conducting a survey on the sexual habits of American women. Four locals volunteer to be interviewed: alcoholic nymphomaniac Naomi (Claire Bloom), toyboy-touting, middle-aged Sarah (Shelley Winters), seemingly happily married Teresa (Glynis Johns) and frigid young widow Kathleen (Jane Fonda). Although the four-stories-interwoven-into-one formula is an old-hat approach, the central performances, notably from Bloom and Fonda, give this soap a creamier lather than most.
