Popular TV star Loni Anderson takes the Bette Davis role in this Nashville version of All About Eve. But it's a pretty disappointing story that lacks pace and should not be mentioned in the same sentence as the late Joseph L Mankiewicz's great classic. However, there are appearances by several country stars, including Lynn Anderson, Box Car Willie, The Bellamy Brothers and Barbara Mandrell. And Linda Hamilton, co-star of the TV show Beauty and the Beast and Sarah in the Terminator films, is reasonably convincing as the sweet-as-pie newcomer who successfully conceals her hard-as-nails ambition.
