A dessicated comedy-thriller that begins brilliantly, but soon descends to the tedious as David Hemmings, Richard Attenborough and Alexandra Stewart play confidence tricksters who cross and double-cross each other in a bewildering series of events. Based on a novel by Len Deighton, who wrote the Harry Palmer spy thrillers.
