The only 'Road' comedy in colour, this hasn't the joie-de-vivre of some of Bob Hope, Bing Crosby and Dorothy Lamour's earlier efforts, and the supporting cast is a bit weak, although there are funny guest spots from Jane Russell (right at the end), Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis and (on film) Katharine Hepburn and Humphrey Bogart.
The most popular song was Bing and Bob's duet Chicago Style.
The humour here seems more forced than before and Hope and Crosby (though not Lamour) too old to be cavorting in such capers any more.
The next road (to Hong Kong) was to be the last and Crosby's death, ironically, robbed the two old stagers of the film they were planning, The Road to the Fountain of Youth.
