Nicolas Roeg's directing debut, this haunting tale is set in the amazing-looking Australian Outback. Jenny Agutter and Lucien John (actually Luc Roeg, son of the director) star as English kids stranded in the desert when their dad kills himself, but they are shown how to survive by a young Aborigine (David Gulpilil). An intriguing and absorbing story is turned into a brilliant little masterpiece by Roeg's stunning camerawork (TM/DW)
